Growing up we had a mouse in the house, but unlike most American kids it wasn't Mickey, it was Topo Gigio. I loved that mouse! My mom got us the show on tapes as well as the cassette tapes to sing along to in the car and at home.
Topo Gigio was cool because he was a puppet but he didn't look like a puppet. You couldn't see strings and he moved so smoothly. All his limbs moved and he even seemed to make facial expressions. It was like he was actually alive!
This super cute mouse taught kids to be good with songs. He sang songs about appreciating moms and dads and about being a good kid when going to bed.
I was recently reminded about this childhood character and it brought me a wonderful sense of nostalgia. Now here's a little sample of the cutest mouse ever. Enjoy!
